The second set in the D&D rule set, this one covers levels 4 to 15. It is also where the idea of campaigns get introduced and we meet the Known world for the first time. Includes the Isle of Dread an exploration to find holes in the ground to kill the inhabitants and take their stuff.

The meat and potatoes of classic d&d will always be the basic and expert sets, Ive always found that playing thru the levels these two sets detail are the heart of the game! I got my start back in 1980, back when you had to color your own dice, I would like to see other classics such as gamma world, star frontiers, boot hill, etc. My printing of the expert set came out perfectly! Well worth the cost considering that back in the day these two sets wouldve cost (well did cost me ) upwards of forty dollars.

I mainly bought this product out of a sense of nostalgia. I'm not likely to actively play any games of D&D with this rules set, but I'm glad to have it on my virtual bookshelf when I start to get a hankering for the old days when I was teaching my slightly-younger cousins to role-play.

Sharing the main rules load with the Basic:D&D companion, the expert rules are pretty much a must if you want to give the old classic a play! The scan is good, the writing clear and the product holds up surprisingly well even today.

Top notch.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
The D&D Expert rulebook is still one of my favourites, and it come with Isle of Dread, a great classic adventure. What more needs to be said?

Oh yeah, the scans are good!

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
D&D Expert, really takes me back to the good old days. This really is as good as it gets, follows on from D&D Basic and the both make a really good match. I actually played this verson for several years before getting into AD&D1. If your looking at some where to start, after the Basic edition then I would seggest this book.

LIKED: This would be some of the best stuff TSR produced. Its fairly basic & Old school gaming, it might not be as fancy as the new material on offer these days but, you could take both Basic & Expert book away with you and not have to get anything else.

DISLIKED: The Adventure Ile of Dread, has been revamped, but it could of been so much better, still the revam does clean up a lot of stuff.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Pretty good scans - a lot less for the money than the other rulesets as there is only 1 book, but at $5 that's not a complaint, more applause for the extra value of the other sets - especially the Cyclopedia.

Wish this were the 3rd (Cook) edition. It's almost the same, but has a different version of the Isle of Dread module (also avaiable).

Awesome! Having grown sick of the complications of 3e, I'm going back to the beginning. It's very, very cool that WoTC and RPGNow have teamed up to bring it back. This is real D&D!
