I bought the book, but I read no further than page 5 because it used tired old citations from a book without a source.

Mcarthyism the rpg.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

"oh great this is going to be an awkward mix of DND and fallout"

Well it definitely borrows from those things, but it's more post-post apocalypse, and the dnd elements just work, the world work and the rules work, the settings lends itself to all manner of fun story telling, does everything an RPG book should do well

I love my Half-Elf Chaos Sorcerer.

This book has a lot of cool new class and race ideas and I'm certainly happy with my purchase.

But i wanna take a stab at the marketing I'm afraid. to draw up a character you still need a player handbook 1, which seems silly as both books cost so much and it's only one chapter that would've been easy to include, particularly as for someone like me, i don't see myself playing many PHB1 class/races.

Secondly the book references other book you need to buy! for example "for .... items see adventurer's vault!"

I know there running a business, but the new marketing policy isn't made with the penny stretching fans in mind. Then again, maybe I'm just a mean scotsmen

New World of Darkness Rulebook (1st Edition)

I come from a community of New World of darkness haters, and this forms the basis of my review.

what we have here compared to the old WOD is a tidy up, nothing revolutionary or apocalyptic, combat system's be finely tuned, clans (tribes etc etc) have been reduced and combined to make it more simpler, which for anyone whose ever tried getting new players into wod is a godsend

We've also been given the ability to combine all the elements of WOD into one campaign, now vampires can ally with changelings ,werewolves, Prometheans even humans etc etc, without worry too much balancing issues.

I suppose my criticism would be the lack of change in new wod everything that has been done is good, but perhaps if you own anything form the Olwod i would not recommend updating just yet
