Synopsis

After a near-death experience, Zen is still recovering in Helmdar. With nothing better to do, the young craftsman begins his path toward becoming a renowned mastersmith of Pnumadesi. But he’ll soon learn that even that endeavor comes with its own trials and tribulations. Worse, it seems the elementals are moving north in search of the next Gem of Power. Without his friends and famliy to help him, Zen will have to complete his training, prove his worth as the Lord of Desmond, and survive the Frozen North where he’ll contend with those born of the elements.

The third tale set in the world of Pnumadesi is back on the heels of its 10th anniversary. With updated covers and a new home at Samurai Sheepdog, the Zen Chronicles by Kevin Glusing (Formerly as Edward Larel) once again delve into the story of Arawn Segomo and the Children of Destiny as they prepare the world they know for its next bout with the elementals who control it. Author's Note: The Highborn King and Born of the Elements are both part of the third story in the Zen Chronicles. They take place at the same time, in different areas of the continent. You can read either first.
