There’s something wrong with this case. You don’t just drop something like this on a guy’s plate and expect him to eat it. I’ve been around long enough to know that when something smells this bad, you don’t touch.

After all, this is Chinatown. A little slice of stability while the world outside is giving hell a run for its money. Slaver gangs, old-tech warriors, mutants, savages, ferals: any one of them will spill your blood or worse. But here? A person can breathe. You can work, get enough to eat, even raise a family. So long as Chinatown exists, it’s safe. Relatively.

I’m Detective Slade Tatum. I’m one of the people who does his best to clean the human scum from the inside of our little pond. If your business is kidnapping, gun running, tech theft, or organ harvesting… you get to meet me. I’m not a nice guy. I don’t play fair. Someone always has to be the asshole who stops the scum in their tracks, and if there’s one thing I’m good at it’s being an asshole.

I’ve been a cop in this town for a long time, and I’ve seen my share of crazy stuff. Cyborgs, three-headed beasts, human-lizard mutants out in the wastes. I’ve seen men kill each other over scraps of bread and I’ve seen places so expensive that they don’t let me in even when I show my steel badge. I’ve seen all the crazy things people do when they realise that they’re about to run out of heartbeats.

And yet, I’ve never seen a case like this one.

Set in the Goremageddon universe (originally the Toxic Holocaust tabletop miniatures game), Chinatown is a safe-zone that sits in New Los Angeles. Goremageddon features various themes, including an over the top post apocalyptic setting, thrash metal, synthwave music, gore, horror, exploitation and others. Chinatown features its own themes, such as 80's crime drama, gritty cyberpunk action, synthwave music and 80's style action.

Chinatown is the Monolith's second official title and an ongoing series, created by Neuicon and written by the talented Chris Reynolds (creator and author of the Cartel Tactical Centre, who has written various short stories included in the ongoing magazine).

Included in this download, are a PDF of season two's inaugural episode in a lavishly stylized document (the PDF is best enjoyed in a two-page viewing format).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
